EFPA EMC 7/2021: Early Career editorship opportunities for new EFPA empirical journal

EFPA is delighted to have entered into a partnership with Hogrefe for an empirical journal which will complement the 25 year old European Psychologist.

The journal is the European Journal of Psychology Open (EJPO).

 

As the name implies, the new journal will publish open access, and also will promote modern open science practices, it will publish full-length original articles and brief reports describing single studies.

This empirical focus complements European Psychologist which focuses on review character papers. The need for a European empirical journal of this type has become very evident during the pandemic.

An additional feature of this journal is the innovative focus on early career talents.

This will see the appointment of early career researcher associate editors who, under the expert guidance of the senior editors, will develop their scientific journal editing skills; early career reviewers who alongside experienced reviewers, will gain experience in the peer review process; and early career researchers submitting papers who will be guided through the process of publishing good scientific articles and open science practices.

EJPO is now calling for a team of early career associate editors.

The closing date is quick, due to the need to get the journal up and running, and is 5 April 2021. The requirements and how to apply is set out in the call.

EFPA is very keen for this opportunity to be widely promoted and for applications from across Europe and across fields within psychology.
